Radio System Technician

An excellent opportunity for a Land Mobile Radio electronics technician who enjoys a wide range of real world challenges. Familiar with Public Safety, Commercial , and industrial radio systems. We are a small company with a very tight team of close working professionals. We are solid in this economy and celebrating or 20th year at the same location under the original ownership.

Duties

  • Handle telephone Tech Support calls.
  • Assist testing and debug new products.
  • Test production products for finished goods
  • Create test procedures.
  • Review, and correct product manuals.
  • Troubleshoot production defects.
  • Troubleshoot and repair warranty returns.
  • Perform prototype installations of Cimarron products into 2-way radios.
  • Travel little or none.

Sales/Marketing Assistance

  • Assist Sales Department with pre-sales questions and recommend configurations to meet the customers requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of demonstration equipment for trade shows and conventions.
  • Attend annual Trade Show for booth duty, demonstrating our products and answering questions.

Education/Experience:

Must have a strong troubleshooting background in electronic circuits. Must have hands on experience with 2-way radio systems (VHF, UHF, 800 Mhz), conventional, trunking, P25. Amateur and/or commercial radio licences would be very beneficial.  

Must have current hands-on experience using general-purpose electronics testing equipment including oscilloscopes, multi-meters, RF power, and RF service monitors. Must be able to read and understand schematics for audio circuits and 2-way radio control circuits.

Must be comfortable with software programming applications for configuring various microprocessors and controllers.  Must be PC literate, able to communicate via email with proper English and punctuation and spelling. Must speak clearly on the telephone.  Must have excellent patience and people skills in order to handle Telephone Tech Support.
